  • What talents do I have?

  • What would I be suited to doing?
  • How do I know if I have what it takes to succeed in my chosen field?
  • Would I make it as a ….doctor/ lawyer / architect / sky diver?

This programme is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to find out what it is that you are really suited to. It is the most comprehensive talent and career assessment programme available in New Zealand.

If you are pondering any of the above questions the Talent Profiler programme is for you. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to identify your real talent and potential.

Rather than just focusing on what you think you want to do, the Talent Profiler will identify what you are suited to doing. Extensively researched with a database of 50,000 people, occupational matches are provided for you. With a strong track record of identifying potential, for 89% of participants in one study, our programme was accurate in it’s predictions 10 years later.

how does it work?

The first step is to make a booking to come to our offices to complete a comprehensive 4 hour career assessment programme. Highly comprehensive it will highlight your talents and abilities (beyond those that are tapped into at school) and combines this with both interest and personality profiling to provide the most up-to-date and comprehensive information for career decision-making available in NZ. Your profile is compared with a database of 50,000 people in all sorts of occupations to provide feedback on occupations that match your unique pattern of interests and abilities.

Approximately two weeks later, we provide a one-on-one career consultation with one of our trained psychologists or career coaches where you are presented with your 25 page report to assist with career planning.

You have one further coaching session which focusses on career and action planning and how you can use your results to maximise your career success and happiness.

is it worth doing?

  • 91% of people reported that they had a better idea of what they wanted do and 99% were glad to have taken the profiler.
  • 81% would definitely recommend taking the profiler to others and 15% possibly would.
  • Career predictions were either close or very close to the careerProfiler suggestions 10 years later for 87% of those who took the programme.
  • 97% said it identified their personal strengths and 92% said it helped with career decision-making.

how to get started...

To help us to start building your profile we will send you a number of questionnaires to be completed prior to your consultation. These include completing a personal, career & education history, and personality, interests and values questionnaires to identify your personality traits, preferences and needs, particularly in relation to work. Some are multiple choice and are designed to show how much you like or dislike a spectrum of interests and activities. Some ask for you to rate how much a certain attitude or behaviour matches your own. You’ll be intrigued by having to decide which activities and situations you genuinely prefer.

You will then come and spend a half-day with us at Career Analysts, just a stone’s throw from Queen Street.

On the day of your consultation, the morning will be dedicated to aptitude assessment and profiling. You don’t pass or fail an assessment! We are simply trying to build a true, holistic picture of your character. What’s interesting is that they show up qualities that previous academic performance and employment achievements may not unearth - information that cannot be uncovered in any other way.

The objective of all our assessments is to build an accurate profile of who you are, what motivates you? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What are your values and beliefs? What gets you up in the morning?

what happens next?

Approximately ten days later, you will meet with your consultant, a fully trained occupational psychologist who, having carefully analysed the data, interprets the results in the light of your current personal circumstances, past experience, needs and aspirations. He or she will help to identify new options, define goals and develop an action plan for the future.

Your consultant will then follow up with a comprehensive written report of the assessment results and counselling session, documenting the action plan and the many practical follow-up steps discussed during the session.

After Care includes access to your consultant by telephone, e-mail or written correspondence.

Your second career coaching session is then booked for about a week or two later where you can create a career vision and action plan for moving forward.

This programme is priced at $743 Including gst.

what people have said...

"I found our session very helpful and inspiring. The best thing I got out of it was renewed confidence in myself and my abilities, I feel full of potential and excited about the rest of my life now. Which is a wonderful feeling after resigning myself to be content as a 'nobody' and living a boring and average life. I WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN. Anyway, as you know I have a lot of work to do to figure out the finer details, so I will get onto that, and let you know how I'm going on Monday."
